Iron Fists and Kung Fu Kicks (on Netlfix)

Iron Fists and Kung Fu Kicks is a documentary on the development and influence of kung fu movies. It discussed Bruce Lee in the context of the racism of the North American industry, as well as the marketing and economics of Hong Kong, and the ghastly attempts to exploit his legacy. What I found most surprising was how the moves and message of empowered underdogs in kung fu movies shown in inner city theatres apparently had a profound influence on black communities and the development of hip hop, and how Jackie Chan's environmental acrobatics inspired the invention of parkour.
