#MyBaachan 30. Further Relocation

Baachan_028.jpg

Hastings Park was a temporary holding site for families outside of the Lower Mainland. Nikkei were presented with a few rocks and hard places to choose from next. The most common was relocation or internment camps. They were set up in the Interior of BC in ghost towns leftover from bygone mining booms, and other properties. Building the houses was another of the labour projects to which Nikkei men were assigned.
