My Baachan’s youngest child, my Aunt Haru, would have been twelve years old, so she could feed herself, but maybe she would have been helping with the grandchild Kathy, who was still an infant. This children’s dining area was part of the livestock buildings, adjacent to the sleeping quarters. As I was drawing this, I realized there seems to be a cook at the back of the room.
