Peach Girl at Powell Street
I always enjoy the Powell Street Festival of Japanese Canadian culture. This year I was lucky enough to be a part of it, reading my story Peach Girl with my daughter. Our time was pushed back because of watermelon whacking and they couldn't set up speakers, so we went unplugged in a corner of the Children's tent. We had maybe twenty kids listening by the end. No one had questions but some of them came up for souvenir Peach Girl postcards. Later I signed a couple of books at the Festival Sales table (kindly bought by people I already knew).
