The Wind Rises

Unlike other Miyazaki films I have seen, this seems to be for adults, mostly realistic, set in Japan leading up to WWII, and deals with a male protagonist who loves designing airplanes. In his dreams he talks with an Italian airplane designer and although they mention regrets about planes being used for war, they mostly dwell on the beauty of flight. I loved the depiction of his pursuit of his dreams, although the compartmentalization of responsibility for consequences seemed a little concerning. And his relationship might be romantic, but seemed kind of messed up to me. The complexities are fascinating.
